Navision 3.56

 

This Data Source describes the old Text based version of Navision. Latest release is from 1995. For all later (graphical) versions of Navision, please see the MS Dynamics NAV entry.

 

The following versions of Navision 3.56 are supported

In order for RapidiOnline to connect to your local database server, you need to download and install a small service, that we call the "RapidiConnector". ...

 

If you want to transfer data to/from Navision 3.56, you have to install a Navision 3.56 Client on the computer where the RapidiConnector is installed.

 

You need at least the following files from Navision 3.56 in a directory (see Installation Path below):

  • navi_sr.ndl   
  • navi_ni.ndl   
  • navi_dcn.exe   
  • navi.stx   
  • navi.smt   
  • navi.etx   
  • navi_inf.dat: Must have C-Toolkit access.
  • nc_tcp.ndl   
  • dbl.ndl: Navision database access library for 3.56.
  • nc_netb.dll: Netbios driver (you only need to worry about this if you are using Netbios and not TCP/IP).

 

Configuration

The fields of the Navision 3.56 Data Source Card are described as follows:

  • Description: Enter a text describing the Data Source.
  • Server Number: Select the server number for your Navision 3.56
  • Account: Enter which Account you want to use (specify the name).
    PLEASE NOTE: Account name is CASE SENSITIVE.
  • UserID: If access to the Navision 3.56 database requires a UserID, you specify it here.
  • Password: If you enter a UserID the corresponding Password is applied here. 
  • Installation Path: Specify the path to the Navision 3.56 Client files (for example: “c:\program files\navision356”).
